Relaxation (Swedish) Massage
Unwind, release tension, and simply relax and indulge! You don’t need to do anything but soak it all in. By using methodical flowing strokes and muscle kneading (gentle or deep depending on your preference)
your body and mind are allowed to give a sigh of relief. A relaxation massage will help you sleep better,
lower blood pressure, reduce stress hormones, help with immunity and reduce anxiety and stress.
Orthopaedic Massage, Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue
A focused, or orthopaedic massage, seeks to break the cycle of repeated pain and chronic muscle problems by concentrating on problem areas during the massage. The goal is to release shortened muscles, bringing them back to their resting length, then relaxing over-worked, exhausted muscles to bring balance. Deep tissue massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue using a variety of techniques, such as myofascial release. While this is often a "working" massage with client participation, relaxation techniques can also be incorporated and the depth and pressure of the work is always kept within your tolerance.
Whether you golf, play tennis, walk or just threw the football around this weekend, Sports Massage will help increase mobility and flexibility, prevent injury, and allow you to recover more quickly. Sports and orthopaedic massage use range of motion testing; structural integration; myofascial release; active, passive and assisted stretching; deep tissue massage; and Gregorian® techniques to stretch and lengthen muscles, break up adhesions, and bring the body back into alignment to reduce future injury. A sports massage is usually an active massage requiring participation from the client. Bike shorts are suggested. Warming salves and other products are included in the treatment.
30 Minute Concentrated
Tight on time, but need relief? Come in for a 30 minute massage concentrated on the areas that need it most. Don’t hesitate to call us at the last minute. If we can fit you in, we will.
Some clients also come in every week for 1/2 hour to get their pain and mis-alignments under control, then move to a maintenance schedule for a one hour massage every 4-6 weeks.
Hot Stone Massage
Melt away tension and ease into tight muscles with the use of heated stones. The warmth of the stones creates a tremendously safe and soothing sensation, providing a more thorough softening of muscles and surrounding tissues. In addition, the shape of stones allows for deep, concentrated work while still feeling relaxed and pampered. Hot Stone treatment includes the aromatherapy oil of your choice. October thru May.
While we use only products that are free of parabens and nut oils,
please let your therapist know if you have any allergies before your appointment.
